Just a quickie…
The Chancellor, George Osborne, is expected to double funding for cyber crime fighting later today, with a warning that I.S. is plotting deadly attacks on line.
Things being planned on line in the 21st century? Imagine that.
But couldn’t it be argued that if Mr. Osborne hadn’t ALREADY slashed the budgets of all crime fighting forces across the country, they might/would have been in a better position to tackle these latest issues?
Doubling the budget of any public service is a great thing for a Chancellor to do. But when, in reality, all that succeeds in doing is giving back what has already been taken, well, that kinda smacks of self-serving smugness.
But that’s only my opinion.
